Classic Relaxation
Swedish Massage in Avon, CT
Long, gliding strokes, kneading, and circular movement to ease tension, improve circulation, and invite deep relaxation.
Swedish massage is the classic full-body session, and it is the right place to start if you are new to massage or you simply want an hour to switch off. The work is done with long, gliding strokes, kneading, and circular movement, at a pressure that stays comfortable the whole way through rather than one you have to brace against.
Good for
- A first massage, or a first session with a new therapist
- Everyday stress and tension held in the neck, shoulders, and back
- Circulation and general relaxation
- Anyone who finds deeper pressure more than they want
Before we begin
We start with a short conversation about what is going on in your body and what you want out of the session, so the hour is spent where it will actually help. New clients arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to settle in; if you have been in before, 5 minutes is plenty.
During the session
You are modestly draped the whole time, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Pressure, room temperature, and music are all adjusted whenever you ask, and you can decline any technique or stop at any point. Saying "lighter" or "more there" is not an interruption, it is how the session gets better.
Afterwards
Give yourself a few quiet minutes before heading back out, and drink some water. Most people leave a Swedish session feeling loose and unhurried rather than worked over.
